Pursuit of a Promise to Principle

Fair Trade and J & L Coffee: Not What We Do, What We ARE

“Honesty is the fastest way to prevent a mistake from turning into a failure,”-James Altucher.

J & LCoffee Inc. is proud of the commitment our founders made to fair trade; a commitment to fair trade is a commitment to social responsibility, sustainability, global conservation, and financial and educational opportunities for people across the globe.

A coffee retailer with a stellar history of working with companies that share both our values and our commitment, that’s who J & L Coffee, Inc. strives to be.

“Fair trade is not just a business practice, it is a pledge we make to farmers, communities, and consumers around the world,” John Foster III, VP J & L Coffee, Inc.

But we lost sight of that commitment, we let a basal desire spend less and make more cloud our judgment.

Today, we renew our commitment to principle over profit. We renew our commitment to our employees who we hope will work with us in our re commitment to and reestablishment of fair trade policies with our suppliers.

In the coming months we will be rolling out to the public the ways that we plan to hold ourselves accountable in the future, and the changes we will be making to ensure that continue our commitment to fair trade and all that it represents for the world we live now and the world we will leave for our children.

“I'm very happy to work here, at a Fair Trade factory. The management and Fair Trade Committee clearly care for us and there is a good work-life balance. After work, I'm not too tired when I get home and I can take care of my family. At other factories, this was not the case.” - Latha Maheshwari (pictured with her son, Gautam)
